On 4 October 2026 at 01:37, M/T Xanthia was involved in a collision with another vessel outside Ålesund. Xanthia was underway from Elnesvågen to Førby carrying calcium carbonate slurry.

There were no injuries, no water ingress and no spill to sea. The vessel is currently in safe anchorage, where the circumstances of the incident and any damage is being assessed.

Utkilen is cooperating with the relevant authorities. Further information will be provided when confirmed details are available.
